Cube Smart in Lumberton, NJ...did not have any available climate-controlled units, however, I did receive a call later in the day to ask if I was successful in finding a unit that I needed that day...I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed with such an unexpected follow-up by their customer service.

Just started moving in it is clean and easily accessible. Had a problem with my access code but it was quickly corrected. There was no impact to my use of the facility.

I arrived at the facility in a 32' RV at approximately 2:45 PM and no one was in the office to let me in. There was no sign on the door. At this point I was blocking the entrance to the facility and someone behind me wanted to get in. At the risk of causing damage to my TV and the other vehicle I carefully backed up to let them pass. I then followed the other vehicle inside the premises. I continued to wait fretting over the fact that my Uber driver would be arriving at any time. I called the office and left a message. I then called the 888 number and asked for help but they could not assist me. I was prepared to leave the facility as soon as another vehicle left and finally, at around 3:20 someone showed up and said that he was at lunch. AT 3:00PM????? The paperwork took much longer than expected and I had to pay the Uber driver to wait for me. You really should send out the paperwork ahead of time via e-mail and let us know when the office will be vacant. Surprised that no one is on the premises during business hours. Very aggravating experience!

I made my reservation online, and shortly thereafter they called me to confirm all the info and let me know that my unit was ready. I arrived, and they had the unit open and ready to show me. The entire facility was absolutely freaking spotless. I'm assuming it's all brand new. No pests, rodents, bugs, webs, or droppings found anywhere that I looked. Climate control and all lights were working. The doors even have little hooks so they can stay open for you when carrying large stuff through them. No need to bring your own door chocks. Once I decided to take the unit, we had all the "paperwork" (it was all digital, hooray!) done in around 10 minutes. Very little hassle there. There is a small bit of friction if you wish to use your own insurance (you have to fax some paperwork to your provider, and have them type a letter of coverage), but if you use their insurance it's painless and not too expensive. That's something I've seen with every storage unit I've used, so I can't fault them for it. Just an industry standard. They included a free padlock (brand new; they broke the seal in front of me) and keys. That was a refreshing change. They have good access hours (0600-2200 as of this review), and a nice electronic gate system. There's even an intercom at the gate keypad in case something goes odd. So far; the best storage facility I've done business with. Very courteous.

Initially a lot of paperwork but that's to be expected for any contract. I didn't know there were no dogs on premises and I was babysitting a puppy while I was doing the majority of my move so it was in the car. The employees came out and informed me without making a big deal out of it or asking me to leave, very professionally handled. Unit is clean and easy to access. I would like to see more insurance options for those of us storing very valuable things (tools, cars, etc.). $5000 doesn't cover one drawer of my toolbox >.
